Immortamus

 Immortamus

I was privileged to join the Sheehy family on an eventful flight to Bone with my favorite little doggie on board. She hated all three thousand air miles, trembling and looking out of the crate with wounded Clairie eyes. At LAX it was heartbreaking to see her consternation but it was worth misty eyes to see her wagging tail when she was put on a leash in the Manchester airport when the misery was over. She sat on the consule of a rented van and bounded into camp freedom when we reached Bear Cove. There were the resident pugs waiting to kick up a storm of barking but soon the little lady had won over Alf and Missy with her California charm. There was always a small fence around the perimeter that was called "the Pug enclosure" but CBD (the California Bad Dog) showed long legged Alfie how to hop over the so called barrier while sticking it to the man. Not all was well though since there was one hardened beast who would not accept this West Coast princess. She was called "old" and Immortamus by the human sisters. Artemis was so damn old she dragged her non-functioning back legs behind her grizzled pug noggin with rheumy blind eyes. She bark/wheezed at anything that moved and would have been sent off to rainbow bridge years before if not for the heroic efforts of the dog loving Ziesings. Some hard shells believed she should have been sent packing but not this pug-cultish family.  Despite the sympathy she garnered, being Minnie's old dog, Greg disliked the poor old lump because she attempted to charge and gum Clairie during kitchen time. Immort was so pampered as they cheated the dog reaper the true dog believers had to gently slap-massage b.m's out of her which caused Greg to harden his jaw when he heard Grace and Roy slapping the old dog's belly to stir elimination. Even Minnie called her a "wreck" but she was the sovereign of Bear Cove and made futile lunges at our dear Clairie throughout her visit.
